School lunch is the most thought-about & highly-planned meal of the day.
Discover the OVS* compliant solution…
The Build-a-Tray™ Program is an educational, interactive and fun game that graphically prompts students to make healthy, nutritious choices at school. Each food group is represented on the tray with a shape, number and color. Kids fill their tray with 3 to 5 food items to build a balanced meal.

According to federal statistics, many of our nation’s schools are still challenged with the daily mandate of successfully implementing the Offer Versus Serve Program, a positive nutritional guideline that seeks to ensure our children eat well and eat right for at least one meal per day.
Designed by foodservice directors and nutritionists, The Build-a-Tray™ Program is a smart way to meet the requirements of the USDA's Offer Versus Serve (OVS) program and the MyPlate.gov program in schools across America.
“The Build-a-Tray™ Program is a colorful and educational tool. It helps bring the classroom and cafeteria closer. The program keeps it simple and even fun!”
Jackie Morgan, Foodservice Director – Milton, MA

The standard school serving tray was transformed by nationally recognized school food court designer, Tacey Trebino Martinek, founder of The Artworks Shop, into a federally-complaint, color-coded program. The shapes and numbers help students place the appropriate foods in the right spot on their trays. The trays are available through your local paper distributor. Read about The Tray Debate.
